About Me

Emma qualified in Occupational Therapy from Glasgow Caledonian University and went on to work in Rehabilitation and Medicine of the Elderly in Scotland. Since 2010 Emma has worked in Primary Care with the HSE, developing her skills in housing and seating as well as in treating clients of all ages with a range of medical conditions and varying levels of ability/disability. Emma is a passionate advocate for the rights of people of all ages and abilities to have control over their lives and to be active participants in society. Her interests are in client-centred practice and encouraging people to 'be their own OT', finding solutions that enable them to lead fulfilling, meaningful lives, through access to occupations and roles that are important to them. When not working, Emma loves spending time with her family and friends, drinking coffee, doing yoga, listening to and occasionally making music and walking her dog in Wicklow. Specialist areas of practice include, Housing assessments and reports, seating and wheelchairs, home mobility assessment, cognitive screening and rehabilitation.
